Anti-wrinkle injections

Administered by our Specialist Aesthetic Doctors, anti-wrinkle injections are a quick, safe and non-invasive treatment which smooths wrinkles, rebalances facial features and creates a refreshed, more youthful look.

As research increases, the use of anti-wrinkle injections is fast becoming popular for the treatment of an array of aesthetic and medical concerns that affect the face and body. Due to our team’s precision and incredible results, we are the number one choice for anti-wrinkle injection treatments.

Infused with purified proteins, anti-wrinkle injections work by blocking nerve signals in the muscles, when injected into specific areas of the face. The injections contain a naturally occurring neurotoxin, botulinum toxin type A, which helps to stop the muscle from over contracting and wrinkling the skin. A great solution for temporarily reducing the appearance of a variety of lines and wrinkles, including frown lines, crow’s feet, bunny lines, necklines, marionette lines, nasal lines and eye wrinkles. At Parkside Health, we also use anti-wrinkle injections to successfully address other areas and concerns such as hyperhidrosis; excessive sweating.

Our anti-wrinkle injections can effectively reverse the ageing process, by treating the root cause. With minimal downtime required it is the perfect choice to help smooth your skin for an immaculate and rejuvenated look.

Dermal Fillers

Over time, our skin evolves and we lose hydration as well as facial fat. Our natural skin elasticity reduces due to the degradation of collagen and our skin becomes more fragile.

Consequently, over time the natural volume of our youthful skin begins to diminish, and wrinkles and folds start to appear. The more mobile facial areas are the first to be affected by this natural ageing process. Skin will eventually begin to sag, and “expressive” wrinkles will start to appear, which are more difficult to smooth out. Designed to be a safe and effective choice of procedure to smooth out problem areas and tackle signs of skin ageing, dermal fillers are the obvious go to choice of treatment

Delivered by our specialist aesthetics doctors, dermal fillers, an injectable gel containing a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, are a hydrating and long-lasting treatment, designed to swiftly restore and reshape the face and lips, whilst enhancing the natural contouring and definition of the features.

These fillers are the perfect injectable to reinvigorate and brighten the skin, by flooding the relevant areas with moisture to boost hydration, giving the face a more youthful, rejuvenated, natural look. Our doctors are on hand to create your tailored treatment plan, whether you’re looking to transform your lips with lip filler, undergo non-surgical restructuring of the nose, or revive the face with our non-surgical face-lift.

Our renowned, highly skilled team use advanced treatments to plump and restructure the lips and face, leaving you with a flawless finish without ever needing to go under the knife. Parkside Health’s face fillers are the obvious choice for life-changing results.

Anti-wrinkle injections FAQs

A one area anti-wrinkle injection appointment can take up to as little as 15 minutes, making it the perfect lunchtime treatment.

Our anti-wrinkle injections can last up to 6 months, depending upon the client. There is always the option of top-up treatments available should you wish, helping you maintain that youthful, radiant look for longer.

During anti-wrinkle injection treatment, our specialist doctors will use their specially developed technique to administer a controlled amount of Botox into the patient using a fine needle. An optional numbing cream is available should you need it, but the procedure is relatively pain-free, and many of our clients choose to have treatment free of anaesthetic.

Results are noticeable within a few days, with optimum results becoming apparent at around 2 weeks post-treatment. The treatment can last up to 6 months, after which time a top-up treatment may be required.

There is no downtime with anti-wrinkle injections, although patients may be advised to stop taking medications such as aspirin prior to the appointment to minimise chances of bruising.

The best time to consider having anti-wrinkle injections is when you begin to notice that your dynamic lines (these are the wrinkles that only appear through expression) appear regardless of expression and form even when static. However, it differs from person to person, dependent on genetic and lifestyle factors such as sun exposure, stress, cigarette smoking, and other environmental factors. Botox works best at this stage, rather than with deeply etched lines, which are more difficult to smooth out.

The longer you wait, the more invasive the treatments for wrinkles become – for example, dermal fillers are used when anti-wrinkle injections will not suffice. Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to reduce the appearance of current wrinkles.

Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to treat areas such as:

Frown lines – Forehead lines resulting from gathering of tissue between the eyebrows or fold, and caused by squinting and frowning.

Crow’s Feet – Fine lines that form around the eyes, typically caused by sun exposure and smoking.

Bunny Lines – Fine wrinkles that appear when you scrunch up your nose, such as when you smile or laugh.

Necklines – Necklines including horizontal ‘necklace lines’ and vertical ‘platysmal bands’ (Nefertiti Neck Lift) can be caused by everything from genetics and ageing to spending too much time looking down (i.e. at your phone).

Marionette Lines – Creases or folds that start at the outer corners of the mouth and run down to the outside edges of the chin. Marionette lines can be caused by various factors, including bone structure, skin type and the amount of fat and collagen in your face.

Anti-wrinkle injections can also be used to treat medical conditions such as migraines, excessive sweating and facial flushing.

Anti-wrinkle injections can stop migraines before they even start, with treatments recommended every twelve weeks for maximum effect. This treatment works by blocking the release of the neurotransmitters that are associated with pain, meaning that you no longer have to experience the severe pain of a migraine.

Anti-wrinkle injections can help with excessive sweating by blocking the signals that the body sends to stimulate sweat glands. It is injected into the skin, and the effects last for 3-6 months.

Anti-wrinkle injections can treat blushing of the face, neck, and chest by blocking the signals between nerve cells that reach the skin and blood vessels. For those who suffer from anxiety and are embarrassed by their blushing, anti-wrinkle injections can bring back confidence and significantly improve quality of life by removing this anxiety altogether.

Anti-wrinkle injections can be used to minimise the amount of gum that is revealed when you smile by relaxing the muscle above the upper lip, therefore preventing it from lifting as high.

Anti-wrinkle injections can treat horizontal ‘necklace lines’ and vertical ‘platysmal bands’ in the neck with a treatment known as the Nefertiti Neck Lift, restoring a tighter and youthful appearance of the skin on the neck.

Dermal Fillers FAQs

Dermal fillers have many uses to help improve the look of the face, hands, neck and decolletage. It is reassuring to know that dermal fillers can be easily dissolved if you feel your desired outcome has not been achieved.

Some minor discomfort may be experienced both during the procedure and for a short while afterwards. A fine needle is used to minimise any discomfort, with any lasting tenderness settling within a matter of hours.

Redness, swelling and bruising are normal effects that are to be expected immediately following the treatment. These effects are usually very minor and will cease in around 24 hours. Small bruises that appear where the injections were administered in the skin are short-lived and can be easily covered with concealing make-up if the patient wishes. Any potential side effects can be reduced by sharing your medical history with our team.

Our doctors will offer bespoke aftercare information specific to the patient’s individual needs. However, there are some general aftercare points to consider:

  • The treated area will need to be left to settle following the treatment, being careful not touch or apply unnecessary pressure.
  • For the first 6 hours, the area will need to be kept dry and you will need to avoid extremes of heat and cold.

The results can often be seen very quickly after the procedure and are found to last for up to 6 months. Your doctor will be able to put a long-term treatment plan in place, which will enable the outcome to be maintained for as long as you desire.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a natural substance that is produced by the body. Hyaluronic transfers essential nutrients from the bloodstream to the skin cells, while bringing in hydration and adding volume to the skin.

Once the HA gel is injected, it supports the facial structures and tissues that may have lost elasticity or volume. It helps to bring water to the surface of the skin, keeping the skin supple and fresh-looking.

One thing to note is that the results of dermal fillers will last much longer than other anti-wrinkle treatments. However, the longevity of the effects of dermal fillers can still vary, mostly by the type of filler. Some filler may last only as long as anti-wrinkle injections, while other types of fillers can last for a year or more.
